As part of its cultural history, Manitou Springs has a long-standing reputation as an artists’ colony. This scenic area has been home and inspiration to both fledging and world-renowned artists.
Manitou’s many galleries and art fairs such as Clayfest and the Commonwheel Co-op’s Art & Craft Fair provide an outlet for artists to showcase their talents and an opportunity for those who appreciate and support the Arts to bring it into their homes.
Live music, theatre, poetry, dance — there’s something for everyone in Manitou Springs. From the Manitou Art Theater to performances hosted by the Pikes Peak Blues Society or the Celebration of the Arts and Mountain Music festivals, you can sit back and enjoy or participate. Drumming circles and Tribal Belly Dance groups provide ample opportunity to join in. Here, Art is a way of life and the MSAC encourages Manitouans and visitors alike to be involved.

This area has a long history as a healing and sacred place that precedes the town of Manitou Springs. Once known as “The Saratoga of the West,” today our mineral waters and holistic practitioners offer healing techniques for the mind, body and soul. Year-round holistic fairs combine visual, performing and healing arts. And here you will find yoga, tai chi, massage, watsu, reiki, naturopathy, herbal remedies and spiritual counseling.
